Want to become active on HF? This is the meeting you need to attend.
October and November are truly sweet spots for HF radio propagation in the calendar year. That is why so many contests and other activities ramp up in October and November. BARS “Get on the Air” project encourages members to become more active on HF or perhaps get on for the very first time.

The next meeting of the Billerica Amateur Radio Society (BARS) is Wednesday, October 5, 2016.
Topic: “October and HF; It doesn’t get any better than this (except maybe for November!)”
Guest Speakers: Several mini talks are planned on various aspects of HF operation.
(1) We will start with the fundamentals of HF operating and what you need to get on. Speakers and topics To be determined (TBD) in the next few days so check back.
(2) Tony K1KP, President of the Yankee Clipper Contest Club (YCCC), will provide a mini-talk about “CQ Worldwide”, the worlds greatest annual HF operating event that takes place every October and November.

Note: The weekly BARS Wednesday night net will not meet on this evening because of the club meeting. Members are encouraged to get on Billerica (147.12) on their way to/from the meeting instead.
