DERRY, NH MARCH 29, 2014 — The community of hams from Billerica and southern NH have come together to help the family of Mike Bernock, N1IW, liquidate Mike’s ham radio estate. Mike was an avid HF contester, DXer and a supporter of the burgeoning UHF/VHF digital mobile radio network. Mike wanted his estate to benefit his hobby and for his assets to be channeled back into the things he loved most. With primary leadership from Bill Barber, NE1B, and Ken Caruso, WO1N, Mike’s wishes are being carried out. Today, at Mike’s QTH in Derry, NH, a variety of his gear was sold to excited members of BARS and YCCC. Items like antennas, antenna switches, coaxial cable, VHF/UHF radios and other equipment found its way into local hams’ stations in the NH, MA and VT area.
